MadeInRed

Why is my site not showing up in ChatGPT?

A diagnosis starts by separating discoverability, page evidence and model recommendation. There is no single submission switch and no fixed citation time.

Do not collapse the evidence. A brand mention, a GitHub reference, a page visit and an actual citation are different observations.

1. The page is not discoverable

Check whether the URL is publicly reachable, has a usable canonical, is not noindex, and appears in the intended sitemap. Search engines may still choose not to index it.

Next: Run the public checks at MadeInRed and verify the result in your search console.

2. The page is crawlable but not selected

A robots rule or a successful fetch does not guarantee citation. Compare the page with the exact user question, add clear visible answers and cite primary evidence. Do not promise a ranking or a time frame.

Next: Use the AI Search Audit for technical evidence, then use the Source Hunter or a local research agent for actual citation observations.

3. The facts are unclear or stale

Make the entity, scope, dates, prices and sources explicit. Separate first-party claims from reviews, forums and search snippets. Correct contradictions before adding more markup.

Next: Create a repair plan from the report and re-check the changed URL.

4. The answer or product is not recommended

This may reflect query, location, model, freshness, competition or supplied-candidate effects. A technical audit cannot prove why a model chose another source.

Next: Record the exact question, model, date, answer and cited URLs in a reproducible observation log.

Keep a reproducible observation log

Record the URL, canonical, robots response, page date, exact question, model, date, answer, cited URLs and whether you supplied a candidate. The same question can produce different answers across models, dates and locations.
